The colors washed out a bit, but the detail of this damselfly is on display in this photograph, which was taken while the insect rested a moment in the weeds.
Damselflies resemble dragonflies, but are much smaller, and carefully fold their wings when they aren't flying. But both are great subjects for macro photography; after they figure out you're not a threat, they'll just do their thing while you do your thing. NBD.
